We’re looking for friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic Play Baristas to join our café team! This position focuses on preparing delicious beverages and food items, delivering top-notch customer service, and supporting the overall guest experience in our unique play café setting.

Cozy Village Play Cafe is a family-friendly play café designed to bring joy, creativity, and community together under one roof. We offer a clean, safe, and engaging environment where children can play freely while parents enjoy quality coffee, snacks, and connection.

Key Responsibilities

Barista & Café Duties

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty beverages

• Heat and serve food items at our café counter

• Operate our Point of Sale (POS) system to complete purchases accurately and efficiently

• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked café area

• Follow food safety and sanitation standards

Customer Service & Guest Experience

• Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming, friendly environment

• Check in families and provide information about our play café offerings

• Educate guests on admission options, memberships, birthday parties, specialty classes, and food and beverage menu

• Ensure all guests — adults and children — have a comfortable and enjoyable visit

Support Facility Upkeep

• Assist with general cleanliness across all areas, including the café, play areas, cafe seating area, and restrooms

• Occasionally support the Play Guide team in light play area supervision and cleaning

• Participate in special events and help create a fun, safe atmosphere for all guests

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in food service, retail, or customer service preferred.

• Barista experience is a plus, but not required—training provided!

• Friendly, approachable, and confident in guest-facing roles.

• Able to multitask, stay organized, and adapt to a dynamic environment.

• Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30 lbs.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise & Engage:

• Actively monitor children in the play area to ensure safe, respectful, and inclusive play.

• Engage with children using imaginative play, storytelling, and positive interaction.

• Support conflict resolution with kindness and professionalism.

Safety & Cleanliness:

• Ensure all play equipment is used safely and appropriately.

• Maintain a tidy, sanitized play space by picking up toys and cleaning equipment throughout the day.

• Follow health and safety protocols at all times.

Customer Service:

• Greet families warmly and provide helpful information about our play café policies and offerings.

• Answer questions about memberships, play rules, parties, and events.

• Deliver exceptional service to children and adults alike.

Programming & Events:

• Assist with birthday parties, special events, and scheduled classes.

• Lead story times and mini-activities to enhance the guest experience.

Facility Maintenance:

• Support daily upkeep and cleanliness across the café, play areas, restrooms, and seating spaces.

• Help ensure the entire space remains organized, safe, and welcoming.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children or in a customer-facing role is a plus.

• Energetic, patient, and friendly demeanor.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
